Volunteer Requirment

Applicable to: National Provincial Regional Age Group - Competitive Junior

2026-2027 Volunteer Policy

The Kamloops Aquatics Club relies on fundraising and volunteer support to keep swim fees affordable. Hosting swim meets is our largest fundraiser and helps reduce costs for families by up to $1,000 per swimmer each year.

Successful swim meets require many volunteers (70+ per session). We ask all swim families to contribute. Like most swim clubs in BC, we have a volunteer policy to ensure responsibilities are shared fairly across the club. The support of our families is essential to creating a positive and successful experience for all swimmers.

Who can volunteer?
Anyone can help! Volunteer hours may be completed by parents, guardians, grandparents, relatives, friends, or teens looking to earn volunteer hours for resumes and post-secondary applications. By registering, families acknowledge and agree to the following:

Families must review and understand the Volunteer Policy (linked). Volunteer participation is mandatory. Volunteer requirements are based on the highest-level swimmer in the family:

  • Junior: 8 points
  • Age Group - Competitive: 12 points
  • Regional, Provincial & National: 21 points

Volunteer points are tracked through your Pool Queue account and updated regularly after meets and events.

Families are strongly encouraged to volunteer for a minimum of three sessions at each hosted three-day swim meet.

Upon registration, every Kamloops Aquatics Club family will agree to an automatic charge to their credit card of $500.00 on July 15, 2027. Your credit card will only be charged if your family does not meet your volunteer requirements. If a family does not fulfill the required volunteer points by the end of the season, the pre-authorized $500.00 charge will be processed on July 15, 2027.

Thank you for supporting our club and helping us provide a positive, affordable, and successful swimming experience for all athletes.
