Randy Kloska
Head Novice Coach
Email
Randy's enthusiasm for competitive swimming began with summer club and high school swim team in Libertyville, Illinois. During those years he obtained Red Cross Life Guard certificate and his Water Safety Instructor certificate. During summer club Randy had the opportunity to teach younger children competitive swimming. In high school phys. ed. class he had the opportunity to instruct other students swimming skills. He received positive feedback from the coach/PE teacher about his instructions. During the 5 ½ years experience in competitive swimming, Randy qualified for Illinois State Championships for High School Swimming. In summer club he qualified for local championships. While swimming as an AAU member Randy qualified for the Junior Olympics in California . His swimming career also includes swimming in California on a college swim team and with Cal Tech swim club.
Contact began with KCS in 1995/96 swim season when the Kloska's oldest son was looking for a sport to be involved with and saw the Olympic Way ad in the Kamloops Recreation Guide. Their older daughter joined KCS not long after. Randy believes the years spent on the swim team during the 90's and early 2000's helped them greatly with their university and careers. The Kloska's third & fourth children have joined the swim club in recent years, bringing Randy's involvement in the club to 14 ½ years.
Randy's enthusiasm for KCS is “Red Hot” as he continues working on his NCCP Level 1 coaching certification. With the past experience in competitive swimming and years of contact with KCS, Randy looks forward to passing on his enthusiasm and help swimmers “make it happen” .
